Climate Companion Card
As the risk of unpredictable disasters and catastrophes increases due to global climate abnormalities, cities around the world are promoting various eco-friendly transportation policies to actively respond to the climate crisis. The Climate Companion Card is a public transportation integrated pass implemented by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and is a transportation policy that allows unlimited use of the subway, city/village buses, and public bicycles (Ddareungi) with a single card.

Background and purpose of policy introduction

As signs of a global climate crisis such as heat waves, heavy rain, and droughts appear, cities around the world are making efforts to increase public transportation use, such as introducing unlimited transportation cards.
Londons Travel Card and Germanys 9 Euro Ticket are achieving positive effects, such as reducing greenhouse gases and reducing inflation rates due to increased public transportation use.
The Climate Companion Card was introduced to alleviate the burden of living expenses for ordinary people and effectively respond to the climate crisis by further improving the public transportation usage environment.
